Wannabe Stepford Wife

Hello all!

Welcome to my blog. I decided I wanted a way to keep track of my new housewife adventures. I graduated college last May and moved to Colorado in June. Since I have not found a job yet, I have decided to start doing things I never had time to do when I was too worried about homework, tuition costs, and work.

I realize most of these are home related but it's where I have been lacking in the past. I am an educated woman who wants to learn what it takes to be a Stepford Wife. Basically, the best of both worlds.

Here are some of the things I want to work on:

- Cooking: I never had time to cook before. I have recently gotten really into it and my greatest accomplishment thus far was the seafood enchiladas I made on Easter Sunday

- Baking: Is there anything that makes a house a home faster than something baking in the oven? No, I don't think there is. I have baked cookies, cupcakes, and had a small fiasco with lemon bars (damn the high altitude!).

- Sewing: I want to be the mom that makes her daughter's dance costumes and can make her own maxi dress in an emergency. My one attempt at sewing was in seventh grade (I'm WAY past seventh grade) and I sewed my sleeve to the machine. Fail.

- Running: This is probably the hardest one of all. I have NEVER been a runner. I played sports in high school but have never wanted to just run. However, I realized that most people that run view it as a hobby instead of exercise. My attempts so far have been pitiful, but I'm hoping keeping track will help me.  I would love to be able to do a half-marathon in the next year.

That's my intro. I will post some recipes some time this week.
