Motivation Monday- The Tools

After a WONDERFUL and much needed trip to Las Vegas I am back and ready to get back on track. Although I have been slacking off for two weeks now (I'm so ashamed), I have not gained any weight so I am very grateful for that. Plus, I went over a month without eating out which gave me a great sense of accomplishment.

One thing that has helped is having tools that allow me to make changes and stick to them. This is about changing my lifestyle not just dieting and losing a few pounds. I've already talked about my trusty notebook and how it keeps me in line when it comes to eating. Here are a few other things that help or I am hoping will be beneficial:

1. RunKeeper app- I am the type of person that has to know how far I've gone and how far I have to go. Although running outside make me feel accomplished, I don't like not knowing how far I have to go to reach my goals. My friend introduced me to this app and I can't wait to use it. You can find friends and keep each other motivated!

2. Fridge full of the RIGHT foods- As I have said before, I lost almost thirty pounds just by changing the way I eat. I feel that is the reason why even when I stop working out, I don't gain the weight back. Things like spinach, bananas, peppers, strawberries, and other veggies and fruits have been life changing.

3. Setting goals- Nothing feels as great as reaching a goal. Even when the goal is small (such as run twenty seconds longer), it makes me feel accomplished. The thirty pounds were a combination of "just two more pounds" and "get to this weight in a month." Every time I reached one, I felt like stopping was a silly idea and kept eating my salad and avoiding the pizza.

4. The Husband- I am lucky enough to have a husband that tells me I am beautiful and sexy every day. There are days when I don't want to hear it but he will get in my face and tell me. However, he understand that how I see myself is very important and has been so supportive. Not once did he complain when our fridge went from boxes of takeout to veggies and fruits.

My goal for this week is to sign up for my free fitness evaluation at the gym. I don't know why but it terrifies me. I have never been able to do a sit up. I get positioned for one then roll over like a rollie pollie. Hopefully, I will suck it up and next Monday I can talk about the evaluation.

  1. you are doing awesome! I actually did my free session and was so nervous but it was actually really good! You go girl! ps. I should try that runkeeper app!
