This past weekend, The Husband and I decided to explore Denver. We got a room at the Ritz-Carlton and tickets to the Colorado Rockies game. We ate, shopped, ate, laughed, ate, and saw Peyton Manning.  I am not a Broncos fan but it was still pretty neat.

First off, the hotel is gorgeous. The service is incredible and the location is walking distance from shopping, dinner, drinks, and Coors Field. Our room was the one shown below and had a living room with the best window nook looking over the city.

One of the best things about the hotel is the restaurant. ELWAY'S is owned by John Elway and has the best scallops I have ever had. There is no picture of them because I was overwhelmed by the deliciousness. If you get them ELWAY'S style, they add crab and shrimp which takes your taste buds straight to heaven. The side of macaroni and cheese was also to die for.

We ate there for dinner both nights so the next night I had the Smash Burger. That burger has changed my life. I will never be able to look at another burger. It was simple yet perfect and the picture will never do it justice.

For breakfast on Saturday we went to a place called Syrup. I had looked ahead online at places to eat and thought it sounded good. It ended up being in the tower across from the hotel so that worked out well. I had the sweet & savory pancakes with pecan butter and was not disappointed. The pancakes had sausage, bacon, and walnuts cooked into them. I am not a fan of bacon (gasp) but the pancakes were delicious and pretty huge.

We also did some shopping at the 16th Street Mall. I purchased a few things but am particularly excited about two of the things I got from Banana Republic. The bag is my very first cross body bag. I bought it because I didn't want to carry a huge purse to the baseball game but ended up loving it. It's so easy to just put it on and forget about it. The cardigan is an obsession. You can't really see it in the picture but it has leather details on the shoulders and zippers on the wrist. Banana Republic has a new creative director and I loved what I saw for fall. A lot of leather mixed with feminine pieces.

We rounded up the weekend with the game and a delicious breakfast at The Delectable Egg. I love going to sporting events but baseball games are my favorite. It's so nice to be outside and the atmosphere is always fun. After three years in Colorado, we finally purchased some Rockies gear. I will wear it proudly unless they play the Dodgers.

We definitely hope to get a few more trips into Denver before the weather gets too crazy. Lower Downtown (LoDo) has something for everyone and I recommend checking it out if you are ever in the Mile High City.

It has been a hot minute since I last posted. So many things (it feels like anyways) have come about.

I got a new haircut

My braces came off! (Whoot, whoot)

I got up close and personal with a cow.

I went on my first ever trip for work.

I read a book that blew my mind!

And I got a personal trainer.

The personal trainer has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. The high I get doesn't come from the number on a scale, it comes from watching myself lift heavier weights or plank for ten seconds longer than I did the week before. My arms have never been as toned as they are now and it's just awesome to do things that just a few weeks before intimidated me.
