Sunday Perfection

The last few days have been nothing but packing and stressing about moving. I had a list of all the things we wanted to do in Colorado Springs but that went out the window due to stress and time restraints. However, the one thing I refused to miss was having Sunday brunch at The Broadmoor. Everyone in Colorado Springs talks about how wonderful it is and it has been featured on the Travel Channel a few times as one of the best brunch spots in the country.

I think I have written about The Broamoor before but if you don't know about it, it is a gorgeous hotel in Colorado Springs. The grounds are beautiful for a walk and it just feels like elegance as soon as soon as you catch sight of it. It has so much history and some of the best restaurants in town.

The food was incredible and definitely worth the price tag. They had everything from seafood, carving stations, omelets, and the dessert table was to die for! I had the most delicious chocolate, brownie pudding and hope to find a recipe even remotely close to it.

If you are ever in Colorado Springs, make a reservations, put on your Sunday best, and go stuff yourself with the best brunch you will ever have. Enjoy the pics below, it's much better in person!

We found an apartment! We spent the weekend in Utah looking for a place to live. I was so stressed that we wouldn't find anything and would have to store everything until we found a place. As soon as we landed in Salt Lake City, we got our rental and drove straight to an apartment complex.

As soon as we pulled up we knew that we wanted to live there. The location was ideal and amenities were awesome. After some chatting and paperwork, it officially became our new home. It's about 500 square feet bigger than what we're currently in and I am excited to report that it has washer/dryer hook ups. I think it's a clear sign of adulthood when the idea of being able to own your own washer and dryer excites you, lol.

Welcomed Chaos

I am thrilled to announce that we are moving back to Utah! The Husband has accepted a new job and we will be moving before the end of the month. We are both excited to be close to our family and friends and be able to go to birthday parties, Utah football games, and so much more.

Colorado has been such a wonderful experience and I am sad to see it end. Three and a half years ago we moved here without any idea of what Colorado Springs would bring. Neither of us had ever been here and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Not only that, his job required him to be gone for weeks at a time and was definitely a challenge for us as a couple and me as an individual. I had no friends or family and being in a new city was a little intimidating.

All these obstacles only made us stronger and closer. I am glad we had that experience to show us what we can do as a team and how to rely on only each other to guide us in an unknown place. Not to mention what a beautiful city this is and we were lucky to call it home for as long as we did. There are many things I will miss but we have already decided we will be visiting as often as possible.

As excited as we are I am also beyond stressed about the move. Our apartment has turned into utter chaos as shown in the pictures below. We still need to find a place to live and organize what needs to be done and the best way to get everything to a different state.

Hopefully the next time I blog we will have a place to live, everything will be organized, and my sanity will be back.

Just like that, another year has flown by. It seems that the older I get the faster time goes by. I remember when I was a little girl it seemed that time went on forever. There was always something that I eagerly wanted to come up. Whether it was Christmas, my birthday, or summer vacation, waiting was a big part of my young life and the time in between was never-ending.

However, my pigtail days are over and time no longer stops. This past year was incredible for me and my self-worth. I was able to take control of my body image and learn how to be healthy and enjoy exercise. I also learned how to let go of people that I was grasping for that really weren't the most positive presence in my life. It all paid off because I don't think I have ever started a year feeling so secure in my own skin.

I hope 2015 is just as eye opening, eventful, and healing. I will be turning thirty in just a few weeks (yikes!) and really believe that my thirties will be my time to shine.
